| Charles Burnell, M.D., Medical Director
Dr. Charles Burnell, M.D., is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He serves as lead over other associate medical directors across Acadian's service areas. Dr. Burnell reviews on-scene medical procedures and procedures between medics and emergency room physicians. He oversees training and continuing education programs at NEMSA, as well as Acadian's wellness and quality enhancement programs. Dr. Burnell spent 13 years at Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he was the emergency department director. Before becoming medical director, Dr. Burnell worked closely with Acadian for 16 years, including during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina where he served as the director of air transports of patients from the Superdome. Dr. Burnell graduated suma cum laude with degree in Bio Chemistry at Louisiana State University. He was involved in the formation and certification of Stroke Center of Excellence at Our Lady of Lourdes RMC as the ED Stroke Team Director and was instrumental in the formation of Emergency Department (ED) staffing corporation. He served as the ED Director at Acadiana Acute Care Associates, LLC. He is part owner and medical director of a private maritime security company, OSS GLOBAL (Oceanic Security and Salvage Global) with security operatives throughout the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and East African Coast. | | Blane Comeaux, Vice President of Acadian Monitoring Services Blane Comeaux, vice president of Acadian Monitoring Services, joined Acadian Ambulance in 1986 as a paramedic and supervisor in the Communications Center. He created the EROC (Evacuation Response Operations Center) within Acadian, a center for rapid and massive evacuations for hurricanes and other disasters. He was named Vice President/Divisional Leader in 2005. In 1999 he launched a diversified line of monitoring services for homes and businesses, as well as medical alarms for the elderly. His monitoring centers in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana, and Chicago, Illinois, are considered among the most elite in the country. His entrepreneurial leadership developed Acadian's Telehealth Center for daily remote patient assessment and coaching, as well as America On Watch, a virtual guard and video monitoring center. Blane is a founding member of the Medical Alert Monitoring Association and currently serves as its Secretary and a member of the Governmental Relations Committee for the Electronic Safety Association.
He is a graduate of the 2008 Leadership Louisiana program, a 2010 graduate of the Moody Executive Institute at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, holds an Associate of Nursing degree from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University. | | Faye Bryant, BSN, RN, C, Nurse Manager Faye Bryant, nurse manager for Acadian Telehealth Monitoring, joined the Acadian team in 2006. Her years of experience in the home health industry as a case manager and director make her uniquely qualified to oversee this division and assist your agency in building a telehealth program that fits your needs. Faye obtained her ADN from Louisiana State University - Alexandria, and her BSN from Northwestern State University. In addition to her home health experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge from having served in various educator roles. Faye was education coordinator for Rapides Regional Medical Center; where she created classes for the public on topics such as diabetes and childhood obesity. She currently serves on numerous committees and workforce collations for the advancement of telehealth and the use of technology to provide better patient outcomes. |
